Tips for Traveling in Xinjiang

Booking Guidelines
1. This tour is not available to travelers with the following conditions: infectious diseases, cardiovascular or cerebrovascular diseases, respiratory diseases, mental disorders, severe anemia, those in recovery from major or medium-scale surgeries, individuals aged 75 or older, pregnant women, those with limited mobility, or anyone else deemed unsuitable for travel. For travel safety reasons, we recommend that travelers undergo a necessary medical examination prior to departure. The person making the reservation must accurately and promptly convey and verify the traveler’s health condition before booking; otherwise, any adverse consequences and all associated costs shall be borne solely by the person making the reservation and the traveler.
2. Please ensure you provide accurate and complete information (name, gender, ID number, nationality, contact information, whether adult or child, etc.) when booking to avoid booking errors that may affect your trip. Our agency assumes no liability for any losses resulting from guests providing incorrect personal information.
3. Minors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by at least one parent or adult traveler for the entire duration of the trip.
4. Seniors aged 65 or older must ensure they are in good health and fit for travel, sign a liability waiver, and be accompanied by a family member or friend aged 18 or older for the entire duration of the trip.
5. Prices quoted are based on double occupancy (two people per room), except for shared dormitory rooms. For solo travelers, we will make every effort to arrange shared accommodations; if this is not possible, the guest must pay the single room supplement.
6. During the actual tour, provided that no attractions are omitted and with the guest’s consent, the tour leader or driver may make appropriate adjustments to the itinerary (such as changing the order of sightseeing) based on weather, traffic, or other conditions to ensure the smooth operation of the tour.
7. During the tour, if an attraction cannot be visited due to force majeure, the tour leader may, after consulting with guests, cancel or substitute the attraction based on actual circumstances, or the guide may refund the cost on-site according to the ticket price listed in the tour package. Refunds will not be based on the attraction’s posted price; we appreciate your understanding.
8. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, such as road conditions, that require changes to meeting times, the announcements made by the tour guide or accompanying staff at the time shall prevail.
9. For complimentary activities included in the itinerary, no refunds will be issued if they cannot be provided due to force majeure factors (such as traffic or weather) or if you are unable to participate for personal reasons. We appreciate your understanding.
10. During the group itinerary, if you choose to leave the group during non-free time periods, the uncompleted portion will be considered voluntarily forfeited, and only the unused admission fees will be refunded.
11. Travelers who register as adults but hold discount credentials (such as senior citizen IDs, military officer IDs, military disability certificates, disability certificates, student IDs, or tour guide licenses) are eligible for scenic spot admission discounts. Specific policies are subject to the regulations announced by the scenic spot on the day of travel. Eligible travelers are requested to bring the relevant documents. The tour guide will handle the arrangements on-site and refund the price difference based on the discounted rates already included in the package itinerary.
12. When visiting Muslim households, do not enter the kitchen without permission. Muslim kitchens generally do not welcome non-Muslim visitors. Also, do not enter the host’s rooms, especially those of the hostess. Do not touch religious artifacts.
13. There is a significant temperature difference between day and night in the Xinjiang region. When sleeping at night, set the air conditioner to a moderate temperature—do not set it too cold—and cover yourself with a cotton quilt to avoid feeling unwell.
14. When purchasing items, please be mindful that ethnic minority communities in the western regions tend to be straightforward in their dealings. Decide what you wish to buy before beginning to haggle. All measurements are in kilograms.

Travel Tips for Xinjiang

1. Most areas of Xinjiang have a dry climate. To boost your immunity, increase your intake of fruits and vegetables. Avoid excessive consumption of mutton. It is recommended to drink plenty of water and eat fruits in small portions throughout the day. Additionally, to prevent stomach upset, please bring your own common medications.

2. Many areas in Xinjiang are home to Muslim communities of various ethnicities. When dining at any halal restaurant, please do not bring in food containing ingredients other than beef or lamb, do not consume alcohol, and try to avoid wasting food.

3. Distances between cities are long, and attractions are widely dispersed, resulting in extended travel times. Please be prepared for the physical demands of the journey and bring motion sickness medication. Most tour buses are fully enclosed vehicles.

4. Xinjiang has a relatively dry climate, so please stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water. UV rays are intense, so please bring a face mask, sunscreen, sunglasses, and other protective items. In summer, you should also bring medications or herbal granules to clear heat and prevent heatstroke, such as Xiaosangju Granules or Shidi Shui.

5. When touring Xinjiang, some attractions require you to get off the bus and walk around. Therefore, we recommend that you prepare a pair of comfortable, well-fitting, and sturdy shoes—preferably flat-soled ones—before departure.

6. If visiting a Muslim household, do not enter the kitchen without permission. Muslim kitchens generally do not welcome non-Muslim visitors. Also, do not enter the host’s rooms, especially those of the hostess. Do not touch religious artifacts.

7. There is a significant temperature difference between day and night in Xinjiang. Be sure to cover yourself with a blanket when sleeping to avoid feeling unwell.

8. When purchasing items, please be aware that ethnic minorities in western regions tend to be straightforward. Decide what you want to buy before haggling. All measurements are in kilograms.

9. Photography of Buddha statues inside grottoes, monasteries, and temple halls is strictly prohibited. Please pay attention to the notices posted at the entrances of these sites.

10. Please remove all trash generated during activities, do not pick plants in the forest, and maintain the group’s image; keep valuables and wallets on your person at all times, as the agency is not liable for any loss.
