Day 1 – Arrival in Lhasa from Various Destinations
Upon arrival in Lhasa, a guide well-versed in the culture of the Snowland will kick off your exciting journey through Tibet. Departing from the airport or train station, a private vehicle will take you to a well-equipped, oxygen-supplied hotel in the city center. Along the way, you can admire the clear waters of the Lhasa River Valley and the distant mountain ranges, while listening to the guide’s relaxed introduction to Lhasa’s Tibetan culture, religious traditions, and authentic cuisine. After check-in, the rest of the day is yours to explore at your own pace. We recommend taking it slow to acclimate to the high-altitude environment. You can wander freely through the surrounding streets and alleys, gaze upon the majestic silhouette of the Potala Palace, and soak in the tranquility and sacred atmosphere of this holy city. Along the way, feel free to ask your guide for practical information on popular attractions, local specialties, and high-altitude travel tips. The guide will be happy to offer recommendations and, if needed, assist you in planning your itinerary or ordering meals, ensuring an immersive experience of authentic Tibetan culture.

Day 2 – Lhasa → Potala Palace → Square → Medicine King Mountain Viewpoint → Jokhang Temple → Barkhor Street
After breakfast, we’ll head to the Potala Palace, a Tibetan landmark. This magnificent palace, perched on Red Hill, is a sacred site of Tibetan Buddhism and a symbol of Tibet’s history and culture. As you climb the steps and enter the palace, admire the exquisite murals, Buddhist statues, and stupas. Listen to your guide recount the historical tale of Princess Wencheng and Songtsen Gampo, and experience the exquisite craftsmanship of Tibetan architecture and the solemn sanctity of the religion. We then head to the Medicine King Mountain Viewpoint, an excellent spot for capturing panoramic views of the Potala Palace, where you can capture the breathtaking sight of the palace and Lhasa city reflecting against each other. In the afternoon, we visit the Jokhang Temple, considered the “center of the universe” by Tibetan Buddhists. Inside, a life-size golden statue of the 12-year-old Shakyamuni Buddha is enshrined, and the air is filled with the scent of incense, embodying devotion and faith. After the tour, take a stroll along Barkhor Street. This ancient pilgrimage route, dating back over a thousand years, is lined with numerous Tibetan shops and handicraft workshops. Here, you can purchase unique souvenirs and experience the vibrant local life and cultural heritage of Lhasa.

Day 3 – Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Karola Glacier → Baiju Temple → Shigatse
After breakfast, we head to Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes. The lake’s waters shift between shades of blue and green as the light changes, creating a dreamlike scene that resembles a giant piece of turquoise set between the mountains. Driving along the lakeside road, every turn reveals breathtaking scenery; you can pull over to take photos and capture the stunning view of the sacred lake reflecting against the snow-capped peaks. Next, we head to Karola Glacier, the glacier in Tibet closest to the highway. A massive ice tongue cascades down from the mountaintop, glistening silver-white in the sunlight, allowing you to experience the glacier’s grandeur and austere beauty up close. In the afternoon, head to Shigatse to visit the White Pagoda Temple. This Tibetan Buddhist monastery is famous for its unique White Pagoda, whose interior murals are exquisitely beautiful. Blending architectural styles from various schools of Tibetan Buddhism, it is a treasure of Tibetan religious art. After the tour, check into your hotel in Shigatse.

Day 4 – Shigatse → Jiazuola Pass → Rongbuk Monastery → Everest Base Camp
After breakfast, we depart from Shigatse and cross the 5,248-meter-high Jiazuola Pass, an excellent vantage point for viewing the Himalayas. Along the way, the scenery gradually shifts from high-altitude grasslands to snow-capped mountains and glaciers. As the altitude increases, oxygen becomes increasingly thin; it is advisable to prepare oxygen cylinders in advance. In the afternoon, we arrive at Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest-altitude monastery, located just a stone’s throw from Everest Base Camp. From here, you can gaze upon the majestic silhouette of Mount Everest. We then proceed to Everest Base Camp to experience the awe-inspiring grandeur of the “Roof of the World” up close. If the weather is clear, you may even witness the breathtaking spectacle of “Sunlight on the Golden Mountain.” Check into a hotel near Base Camp. At night, gaze up at the starry sky and feel the tranquility and sacredness of the snow-capped plateau.

Day 5 – Everest Base Camp → Gauri La Pass → Shigatse
Early in the morning, we’ll wait for the sunrise over Mount Everest, marvel at the breathtaking sight of sunlight bathing the summit, and experience the first rays of dawn on the roof of the world. We then head to Gaurla Pass, an excellent vantage point for viewing the peaks of the Himalayas. From here, we can gaze upon Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and many other 8,000-meter-high snow-capped mountains, capturing the magnificent scenery of the mountain range. After the tour, we’ll drive back to Shigatse along the same route, taking in the high-altitude scenery once more. Upon arrival, we’ll check into the hotel to rest and recover from the journey.

Day 6 – Shigatse → Tashilhunpo Monastery → “Princess Wencheng” Evening Show → Lhasa
After breakfast, we will head to Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the six major Gelugpa monasteries in Tibet and the seat of successive Panchen Lamas. The monastery is vast and magnificent, with resplendent golden architecture. It houses the world’s largest bronze statue of Maitreya Buddha, creating an atmosphere of solemnity and sanctity. Stroll along the monastery paths, admire the exquisite craftsmanship of Tibetan architecture, listen to the monks chanting sutras, and experience the profound heritage of Tibetan Buddhism. In the afternoon, we’ll drive back to Lhasa. In the evening, we’ll enjoy the large-scale live-action performance *Princess Wencheng*, which uses the Southern Mountains of Lhasa as its stage and the starry sky as its backdrop to reenact the legendary story of Princess Wencheng’s journey to Tibet, allowing you to experience the historical, cultural, and artistic charm of the Han-Tibetan cultural fusion.

Day 7 – Lhasa → Nyainqentanglha Mountains → Damxung → Nagula Pass → Lake Namtso → Lhasa
After breakfast, we head to Lake Namtso, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes. Along the way, we’ll admire the majestic silhouette of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains, which stand side by side with Lake Namtso, resembling a pair of lovers. We’ll cross the Nagula Pass at an elevation of 5,190 meters, an ideal vantage point for viewing the main peak of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains. We’ll stop here to take photos and capture the breathtaking scene of snow-capped peaks intertwined with prayer flags. Upon arriving at Namtso, take a stroll along the lakeshore to admire the stunning scenery where the deep blue, crystal-clear waters reflect the distant snow-capped peaks, and experience the grandeur and serenity of this high-altitude lake. After exploring, we’ll return to Lhasa and check into our hotel.

Day 8 – Departure from Lhasa
After checking out, your tour guide will accompany you to the airport or train station to board your return flight or train, bringing this sacred and awe-inspiring journey through the Snowland to a close as you bid farewell to the magnificent Tibet.
