8-Day Chengdu-Chongqing Panorama Tour: From Chongqing to Chengdu

Day 1 – Arrival in Chongqing
Upon arrival in Chongqing, a guide well-versed in the local culture will kick off your exciting journey through this “Mountain City.” Departing from the airport, a private vehicle will take you to a well-appointed hotel for check-in. Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of the city where the two rivers meet and listen to the guide’s engaging introduction to Chongqing’s “magical” charm. After checking in, you are free to wander the surrounding streets and alleys to experience the vibrant atmosphere of this “8D city.” Along the way, feel free to ask your guide for practical information on popular attractions and authentic local cuisine. Your guide will be happy to offer recommendations and, if needed, assist you with ordering meals, ensuring an immersive experience of Chongqing’s authentic local flavor.

Day 2 – Chongqing → Wulong: Tiansheng Sanqiao and Xiannv Mountain
After breakfast, we will head to the Wulong Karst Tourism Area, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. First, we will visit the Tianxing Three Bridges, a filming location for *Transformers 4*. Here, you’ll find a grand and majestic cluster of natural stone arch bridges. The Qinglong Bridge, Heilong Bridge, and Tianlong Bridge span the canyon, creating the spectacular sight of “three bridges flanking two gorges.” Strolling along the valley floor, you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped into the heart of the earth. Next, we’ll head to Xiannv Mountain National Forest Park. We’ll ride a scenic train through alpine meadows and dense forests, admiring the rare southern landscape of snow-covered forests—a sight rarely seen in southern China—and experiencing the freshness and vastness of the “Switzerland of the East.”

Day 3 – Chongqing: Memories of the Mountain City and Magical Transportation
Today, we’ll delve deep into the multi-dimensional charm of Chongqing. In the morning, we’ll head to Ciqikou Ancient Town to stroll along its cobblestone streets, sample time-honored snacks like Chen’s Twisted Doughnuts and Mao Xue Wang, and soak in the vibrant atmosphere of this millennium-old town. Next, we’ll visit Liziba Light Rail Station to witness the spectacular sight of the light rail passing through a building up close and experience the unique design of the mountain city’s transportation system. In the afternoon, we’ll head to the Eling No. 2 Factory Cultural and Creative Park. This art space, converted from an old printing factory, preserves industrial heritage while incorporating modern creativity, making it an excellent vantage point to overlook the scenery of the Two Rivers. Afterward, take a stroll along the Mountain City Trail to experience the steep, hilly lifestyle of old Chongqing, eventually arriving at Liberation Monument to visit this iconic landmark. In the evening, head to Hongyadong to admire the dazzling lights of the stilted houses glowing in the night, as if stepping into the fairy-tale world of *Spirited Away*. In the evening, take the high-speed rail to Chengdu and check into your hotel.

Day 4 – Chengdu → Huanglong: A Paradise on Earth → Jiuzhaigou
After breakfast, we will depart from Chengdu by high-speed rail, heading to Huanglong-Jiuzhaigou Station or Songpan Station to begin our high-altitude journey. Upon arrival, we will first visit the Huanglong Scenic Area. We’ll take the cable car up the mountain and stroll along winding wooden walkways, admiring the spectacular scenery created by thousands of colorful pools, snow-capped peaks, gorges, and forests, and marveling at the marvelous natural formations of the travertine landscape. We will then travel by coach to the fairy-tale world of Jiuzhaigou, taking in the magnificent scenery of the Min Mountains along the way. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel to rest up for the in-depth tour the following day.

Day 5 – In-Depth Tour of Jiuzhaigou: A Fairytale World
Today, we will spend the entire day exploring Jiuzhaigou National Park, delving into this enchanted paradise designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. Ride the shuttle bus through the three valleys to admire classic attractions such as Five-Flower Lake, Five-Color Pool, and Nuorilang Waterfall. The lake waters shimmer with dreamlike hues of blue, green, and yellow as the sunlight refracts through them, resembling a palette overturned by God. Along the way, you can hike through the tranquility of the primeval forest, listen to the legends of Tibetan villages, and experience the profound awe that comes from the saying, “Once you’ve seen Jiuzhaigou, you’ll never look at water the same way again.”

Day 6 – Jiuzhaigou → Songpan Ancient Town → Chengdu
After breakfast, we will head to Songpan Ancient Town. Originally built during the Ming Dynasty, this ancient town once served as an important military stronghold in northwestern Sichuan. Today, it still retains its intact city walls and gates. Stroll through the ancient town and experience the cultural fusion of Han, Tibetan, Hui, and other ethnic groups. We will then travel by coach to Huanglong-Jiuzhaigou Station or Songpan Station to take the high-speed rail back to Chengdu. After checking into the hotel, you are free to experience Chengdu’s laid-back lifestyle or visit Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li to soak up the vibrancy of this modern metropolis.

Day 7 – Chengdu: Adorable Pandas and Local Life
Today we’ll embark on a cultural and natural journey through Chengdu. In the morning, we’ll visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding to observe the endearing giant pandas up close, watch them eat bamboo, climb trees, and play, and learn about the history of giant panda conservation and research. Afterward, we’ll head to Kuan Zhai Alley to stroll through the ancient Qing Dynasty streets—Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley, and Jing Alley—and experience the laid-back lifestyle of old Chengdu while sampling local snacks like egg pancakes and sugar-coated dough balls. In the afternoon, head to People’s Park to experience Chengdu’s tea culture at the He Ming Tea House, savoring the leisurely and relaxing atmosphere of gaiwan tea. Afterward, visit Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li to experience Chengdu’s fashion and trends, and shop for unique souvenirs.

Day 8 – Farewell to Chengdu
After checking out, your tour guide will accompany you to the airport and see you off on your flight home.
