8-Day Panorama Tour of Western Sichuan

Day 1 – Arrival in Chengdu
Upon arrival in Chengdu, a guide well-versed in the local culture will kick off your exciting Sichuan-Tibet journey. Departing from the airport, a private vehicle will take you to a well-appointed hotel for check-in. Along the way, you can admire the lush greenery of the Chengdu Plain and listen to the guide’s relaxed introduction to Chengdu’s laid-back charm. After checking in, you’re free to wander the surrounding streets and alleys to experience the vibrant, laid-back atmosphere of Chengdu. Feel free to ask your guide for practical information on popular attractions and authentic local cuisine at any time—they’ll be happy to offer recommendations and even help you order meals if needed, ensuring you fully immerse yourself in the authentic, everyday charm of Chengdu.

Day 2 – Chengdu → Maobiliang → Shuangqiaogou → Overnight in Rilong
After breakfast, we set off from Chengdu and head toward the Mount Siguniang area along the West Sichuan Highway. Our first stop is the Maobiliang Viewpoint, where you can gaze out at the rolling peaks of Mount Siguniang. With a bit of luck, you might even capture a full view of Yao Mei Peak, preserving the breathtaking scenery of the snow-capped mountains. We then head to Shuangqiaogou, the most developed and scenic valley within the Mount Siguniang Scenic Area. We’ll take a scenic shuttle deep into the valley, where we’ll admire the stunning interplay of snow-capped mountains, meadows, Tibetan villages, and glaciers along the way. We’ll stroll along the boardwalks to enjoy the fresh high-altitude air. After exploring, we’ll drive to Rilong Town to check into our hotel and acclimate to the high-altitude environment.

Day 3 – Rilong → Lixiao Road → Bipeng Gorge → Overnight in Lizhou
After breakfast, we’ll drive along the off-the-beaten-path Lixiao Road, which connects Mount Siguniang and Bipeng Gorge. With few people along the way, you’ll be able to enjoy the pristine scenery of western Sichuan, including primeval forests and alpine lakes, and stop anywhere to capture stunning, soothing photos. We then arrived at Bipeng Gorge, a place where glaciers, snow-capped peaks, autumn foliage, and alpine lakes converge. Strolling along the scenic trails, we watched the snow-covered mountains reflected in the crystal-clear waters, immersing ourselves in the tranquil romance of this hidden gem in Western Sichuan. After exploring, we boarded a vehicle and headed to Li County to check into our hotel.

Day 4 – Lizhou → Huanglong → Overnight in Jiuzhaigou
After breakfast, we set off from Lizhou County for the Huanglong Scenic Area. Huanglong is world-renowned for its “Four Wonders”: colorful pools, snow-capped mountains, gorges, and forests. Thousands of terraced travertine pools cascade down the mountainside, sparkling with crystal-clear, iridescent hues under the sunlight—a scene reminiscent of a fairyland left behind by God. Walking along the wooden boardwalks, every step reveals a new and delightful view. After exploring, we’ll drive to Jiuzhaigou and check into a hotel near the entrance, resting up for the in-depth tour the next day.

Day 5 – In-Depth Tour of Jiuzhaigou: A Fairytale World
Today, we’ll spend the entire day exploring Jiuzhaigou National Park, delving into this earthly paradise designated as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. We’ll ride a shuttle bus through the three valleys of Shuzheng, Rize, and Zechawa, visiting iconic attractions such as the Five-Colored Lakes, the Five-Color Pools, and the Nuorilang Waterfall. Under the sun’s rays, the lake waters shimmer with dreamlike hues of blue, green, and yellow, resembling a palette overturned by God. Along the way, hike through pristine forests to experience the tranquil freshness of the woods, listen to ancient legends from Tibetan villages, and witness firsthand the breathtaking beauty that inspires the saying, “After visiting Jiuzhaigou, one need look no further for water.”

Day 6 – Jiuzhaigou → High-Speed Train → Chengdu → Kuan Zhai Alley → Sichuan Opera Face-Changing Show → Chengdu
After breakfast, we’ll take the high-speed train from Jiuzhaigou back to Chengdu. Upon arrival, we’ll head to Kuan-Zhai Alley to stroll through the ancient Qing Dynasty streets—Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley, and Jing Alley—browse creative shops, sample Chengdu’s signature snacks, and soak up the laid-back charm of old Chengdu. In the evening, we’ll enjoy a special Sichuan Opera face-changing performance to experience the unique allure of Sichuan’s intangible cultural heritage up close. After the show, we’ll check into our hotel in Chengdu.

Day 7 – Chengdu → Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding → Dongjiao Memory → Chunxi Road → Taikoo Li → Chengdu
After breakfast, we’ll head to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in the morning to get an up-close look at the adorable giant pandas. Watch them eat bamboo, climb trees, and roll around playing, while learning about giant panda breeding and conservation efforts—and snap some super-cute photos of our national treasure. Next, we’ll head to Dongjiao Memory, a cultural and creative district converted from an old state-owned factory. It preserves retro industrial relics while incorporating trendy cultural and creative elements, making it the perfect spot for taking photos, strolling around, and soaking up Chengdu’s artistic atmosphere. In the afternoon, head to Chunxi Road and Taikoo Li to browse trendy shops, visit the ancient Daci Temple, sample all kinds of popular Chengdu street food, and pick up souvenirs to take home, all while soaking in the unique atmosphere where Chengdu’s tradition meets modernity. Overnight at a hotel in Chengdu.

Day 8 – Transfer to the Airport in Chengdu
After checking out, your tour guide will accompany you to the airport and see you off on your return flight.
