Day 3 – Lhasa → Milam Mountain Tunnel → Lake Basum → Nyingchi
After breakfast, we depart from Lhasa, pass through the Milam Mountain Tunnel, leave behind the frigid high-altitude region at 5,000 meters, and head toward Nyingchi, known as the “Jiangnan of Tibet.” The scenery along the way gradually shifts from high-altitude grasslands to lush forests and clear river valleys, as the altitude decreases and the air becomes increasingly oxygen-rich. In the afternoon, we arrive at Basum Tso, a high-altitude lake whose Tibetan name means “Green Water.” The lake’s waters are emerald-green and crystal-clear, surrounded by snow-capped mountains. The historic Tsongkhapa Monastery on the island in the center of the lake harmoniously complements the scenic beauty of the lake and mountains. Stroll along the lakeshore, admiring the breathtaking scenery where snow-capped mountains, forests, and the lake intertwine, and experience the gentle, healing atmosphere of Nyingchi. After exploring, head to downtown Nyingchi and check into your hotel to rest.

Day 4 – Nyingchi → Sejiila Mountain → Lulang Forest → Alpine Pastures → Giant Cypress Trees
After breakfast, we’ll cross the Sejiila Pass. At the pass, located at an altitude of 4,728 meters, we’ll gaze upon the majestic silhouette of Mount Namcha Barwa. If the weather is clear, we may even catch a glimpse of the sacred mountain—a sight said to be seen by only one in ten—and capture the breathtaking scene of snow-capped peaks intertwined with prayer flags. We then head to the Lulang Forest Sea, hailed as a “natural oxygen bar.” Here, dense spruce forests merge with alpine meadows, where herds of cattle and sheep graze alongside babbling streams, creating a scene reminiscent of a Swiss pastoral landscape. Step into the alpine pastures to experience Tibetan nomadic culture up close, interact with the cattle and sheep, and breathe in the fresh forest air. Along the way, visit the millennia-old giant cypress tree—known as the “King of Cypress Trees”—with its massive trunk and lush foliage. Revered as a sacred tree by the Tibetan people, it embodies a thousand years of faith and legend. After the tour, return to Nyingchi city and check into your hotel.

Day 6 – Lhasa → Yamdrok Lake → Karola Glacier → Baiju Temple → Shigatse
After breakfast, we head to Yamdrok Lake, one of Tibet’s three sacred lakes. Driving along the lakeside road, every turn reveals breathtaking scenery; you can pull over to take photos and capture the stunning view of the sacred lake reflecting against the snow-capped peaks. Next, we head to Karola Glacier, the glacier in Tibet closest to the highway. A massive ice tongue cascades down from the mountaintop, glistening silver-white in the sunlight, allowing you to experience the glacier’s grandeur and austere beauty up close. In the afternoon, head to Shigatse to visit the White Pagoda Temple. This Tibetan Buddhist monastery is famous for its unique White Pagoda, whose interior murals are exquisitely beautiful. Blending architectural styles from various schools of Tibetan Buddhism, it is a treasure of Tibetan religious art. After the tour, check into your hotel in Shigatse.
